Stop beginning a comment with “To be honest…” It implies some statements are no true or accurate!

Well, I had to comment, this article is stupendous. Thanks Bill. Were the 27 points ideas for future articles? You could dig into all of them in detail, which would be great.

That's a very good idea!

Great list, Bill.

I'm sure we could all add 1 or 2 more... but this is really good stuff.

Keep up the great work.

Maybe a 28th - question yourself when you are sure you are right. Because sometimes you are wrong.

And the reason nothing happened with the lion suit is because of where you wore it. Try that in small town, Midwest America and you will have a different result (not bad but you will get comments!). This prediction from a New Yorker now living in the Midwest.

your #28 reminded me of this quote: “A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.” - William James

#7 is the second of my "Rules to Live By":

1 - Just because you can, does not mean you should.

2 - It is easier to get forgiveness than permission.

3 - Before invoking rule 2, reconsider rule 1.

Good newsletter. I would add two more Covey points, both what I consider master levers:

1. Be proactive, focusing on important but not urgent

2. Seek first to understand

When will we completely deplete our missiles? Iran is already beefing up their supplies thanks to China. They will just wait us out and then go to town.

Now we see what happens when we deport people that have been contributing members of society for years.

Fauci shouldn’t have to put up with the Rand Paul grandstanding. He has done his job, well.

KasH Patel? What an incompetent person.

Sadly, people are blaming Fauci for things over which he had no control. I was one of the participants in a chorale rehearsal where 60 people attended, and 56 got covid, 2 passed away. No one knew at that time it was airborne! Fauci can't take the blame for that and so many other things. I say leave that guy alone! What is there to gain? He should absolutely plead the 5th!

He shouldn’t even have been placed in a position to plead the 5th. Why are we pestering him when a convicted felon, as well as sexual abuser, remains free? The hypocrisy is monumental.

Not all kids are great. Society needs to stop feeding that lie. Reunions are not always for you, they can bring up a lot of negative memories (I haven’t gone to any school reunions because the people I wanted to stay in touch with, I did). And my policy was never to to the boss with a problem without having at least one solution.

I'm a day late, there's a book "Everyday Narcissism", which the point is that other people almost certainly aren't thinking about you as much as you imagine, for good or ill, which you said: "Whatever I’m worried about on any given day, it’s probably totally overblown. Nobody cares!"

It also helps if you're beating yourself up over a minor mistake made. Yes, apologize, then forgive yourself & realize others aren't remembering the way you are. Or listen to Dr. Suess: "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.

Great list. My 28th is "Have a plan. The person with a flawed plan will still be more succesful than the person with no plan."

Ask your parents about their lives before they were married. Everyone always asks about their life together, they were individuals first and might have some good stories to tell.

Tell the people you love what they mean to you! How they have impacted your life. We are not guaranteed tomorrow and too often we don’t say what we want or need to say to them while they are alive and regret it at their funeral or memorial!
