I wouldn't give my younger self any advice. Everything I have done has led me to the place I am. Change something and I wouldn't be here. Do I have regrets, wish I did some things differently? Of course. But they got me here. And here isn't perfect but it's a pretty good place. Be happy where you are, with what you have.
Note to younger self: You will need to reinvent yourself a few times in your life-some due to circumstances beyond your control and some due to foolish mistakes. Do not fear these changes. In fact, embrace them and look forward to the person you will become because of them.
Be patient. Also, work diligently to develop self awareness (really, EQ in general but self is the first building block). Finally, build relationships with mentors along the way.
Work harder to stay in the present. Regretting the past and worrying about the future will wear you out and you’ll miss out on the good stuff if the moment. By the way, when you went to your first psychic and were told your future (when you were 23), believe him!!! It all worked out.
Advice to younger self, "Leaen to be your own best friend and learn to rely on yourself above all others. If during your life journey others enter to fill those roles that will be a bonus you can appreciate but not wholly rely upon. The best person to advocate for and love you is you."
There was a lot in today's newsletter. First of all, I read Understandably EVERY morning with my coffee and I haven't missed anything or encountered any difficulties. I must be one of "the chosen". My advice to my younger self would be to show some gratitutde daily and be sure to thank people who have helped me. Finally, it made me very sad to read about Diane Feinstein. She has served my state admirably and I feel bad.

It is better to be kind than smart. But if you are smart, you can still be kind. They are not mutually exclusive.
