Here’s to Norm, a funny comedian, an angaging actor and a great person. From SNL to The Middle, you gave us many wonderful laughs and much joy.

So, trump wants “Ten BILIION Dollars” because someone leaked tax records he promised multiple times to share (but never did) that all other presidents willingly shared. Reminds me of Dr. Evil’s ransom demands in the Austin Powers movies.

“Dr. Evil is a fictional character portrayed by Mike Myers in the Austin Powers film series. He is the main antagonist and Austin Powers' nemesis (and secret twin brother). He is a parody of James Bond villains, primarily Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Dr. Evil routinely hatches schemes to terrorize and take over the world, and is usually accompanied by "Number Two", his second-in-command who fronts his evil corporation Virtucon Industries, his personal assistant Frau Farbissina, and his sidekick Mini-Me, a dwarf clone of himself. “

Thanks for the laughs today, Bill - I needed them.

I'm a loyal Stephen Colbert follower and will miss his show immensely. I love Jimmy Kimmel too. I hope your prediction is wrong because these 2 sure helped me cope with what's going on in our country over the past decades.

that was a nice write up

However, I think many people would, if they ever knew Johnny Carson, would believe he was truly the best talk show host. Jay Leno was also good. It's a shame when the following became so wrapped up in their political so-called humor they, & the network, started losing viewers.

& a c/p from WaPo:

“The Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-U.S. relations,” Xi said, according to the Foreign Ministry readout. “If it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability. Otherwise, the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy.”

In the meeting, Trump did not respond to Xi’s comments about Taiwan and moved on to the next topic without acknowledging them at all, according to a White House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive closed-door meeting.

This: "Members of President Donald Trump’s inner circle are secretly fed up with the aide who is enabling his unhinged late-night Truth Social rampages" is wishful thinking that someone could get control of his rampages

and finally, "Losing grip on reality while using ChatGPT": what came first, the chicken or the egg? Danger, danger, Will Robinson.

If an immigrant can move here, speak no English, have no connections or support system, and still 'steal your job,' maybe you're an idiot.

Don't count out Jimmie Kimmel yet. Disney can't withstand another rash of cancellations, nor can ABC afford lost viewers.

I can honestly say I have seldomly watched late night television as I have always had issues staying awake past 10. We did watch reruns of Johnny Carson Late Night and that was funny. No one quite like Don Rickles. It’s sad to see the old standbys disappear, but society is changing. The crap they have for tv shows now is just that. Don’t get the thrill of watching a bunch of women yell and scream at each other or people stabbing each other in the back. But then I don’t get the point of ASMR either, just find it annoying. Guess that shows my age.

The restaurant analogy was quite apt. We have a restaurant here that has been around for decades, but now it’s closing because someone bought the building and its lease. Lots of griping on Facebook about the restaurant losing, but it hasn’t posted its hours since COVID, and every time I go by, it’s empty. So where are all these heartbroken people?

You can catch all the late night guys on You Tube the next day whenever you’re interested. That’s what I’ve been doing since I cut my cable.

You didn’t mention it Bill but the Reflection Pool has turned into a giant costly fiasco. My cousin was born and raised in DC and is just sick over all the destruction that’s happening to OUR nation’s Capital.

Your comment re restaurant closings resonated with me as I have said or thought at least 20 times in my life: “wow,I can’t believe _____ in closing -that was a great restaurant” and then it dawns on me that it had been years since I was last there!!
