OK, BILL, I spent my Saturday afternoon, helping you move (with the promise of fried chicken and pizza afterwards). Well, I helped you move, and there was no pizza. And no fried chicken. Oh, and the bottle of water you offered me: tepid at best. Next time, use your own pick up truck.

On self driving cars, I too am worried. Look at the problems we have with our AI equipment? I’ll be reading a page then suddenly I’m on a different page. Computers also have problems with just not working. And these have banks of folks to help you daily (though it may take some time to accomplish. But worst of all... is our ailing, ancient electrical infrastructure! I read an article recently about a guy using an electric car to go 90 miles and all of the problems he had, and HE was doing the driving. But just finding places to recharge can be a nightmare. (This is a problem even in China where their buses are electric!)

Oh yeah, one more thing about the guy who is alleged to have leaked secrets:

I don’t care what side of the political spectrum you sit on. Leaking government secrets makes you a traitor. I’m sure it makes for great movies. But, that’s just the movies. This is real life.

We all pay the price for traitors.

Why any young person would want to risk their lives for a country of leftists, wokies and power thugs is beyond me. In case you missed the memo, the DOD and HHS want you dead as that is the only reason for their forced injection of mRNA substances. Soon they will appear in the food supply. I know, another kooky conspiracy theory but how many have come to fruition over the last 3 years?

California's three biggest utility companies have a proposal: Flat fees for monthly electric bills, but you pay more if your income is higher. I have zero idea what this is supposed to address, as a person making under $28k and thus paying $15/month is likely simply using a lot less electricity than someone making $180k and paying $85, who likely lives in a bigger house, etc. (KTLA)

California and the state of Washington are leading the charge to socialism/communism. Making it so that everyone pays a percentage of their salary toward electricity, regardless of how much you actually use, is socialism 101.

Washington state house of representatives passed a bill last week that will keep the location of your children a secret from you if you are against gender transition surgery for your kid. Under Senate Bill 5599, children can stay at licensed youth shelters without their parent’s knowledge while seeking medical treatments like gender-transitioning services and medications.

I don't know about you but I don't work hard every day to pay for other peoples' utilities and I do NOT co-parent with the government or the schools.

I can't help myself, I have to weigh in on 2 of the 7 items Bill covered today. The first is in regard to the 3 California power utilities wanting to charge folks a flat fee with the caveat that higher income customers pay more. This is just more socialism, folks socialism is going to and is well on the way to destroying our Republic. When did people stop being taught that life isn't fair? Or that you get out of life what you put into it, or personal responsibility? This move by the utilities would necessitate that they have "proof" of income, companies have zero business knowing how much or how little you earn. The second of 7 I want to comment on is the push to EV. Our government and for that matter European Socialist countries are forcing the move to all things electric. The simple but not much reported reality is that current "clean" technology, short of nuclear or hydro can't generate the MWH's needed to run EV's, homes and businesses. Some of you will have read how Germany is shutting down two of their nuclear plants that produces clean energy?! The governments with cooperation of companies are creating a catastrophe that once it is in full bloom will in their minds/policies only be remedied by passing draconian legislation forcing citizens to have to migrate to their "New Green Deal" philosophies. That migration will result in a significant lower standard of living for the average world citizen. Everything is produced through energy so everything will be immensely more expensive. Who besides companies and governments benefit from this migration? China benefits immensely! China is not migrating to "clean" energy, they are building more coal fired power plants because they know that it is the cheapest source of energy. Once all the woke countries have migrated to "clean" energy there will be even more push to send manufacturing to China who will be even cheaper than they are now!

People seem to bandy around the word Socialism like it’s some kind of obscure, foreign essence of the United States heretofore, not been privy to with Republicans in control. However, farm subsidies, airline bail outs, auto industry, bail outs, etc. are all forms of non-entitled payouts by the government. we could all do with a little bit of anti-divisiveness. If you’re going to continue to stir the pot, you better get ready to have some hypocrisy soup to be spilled on you.

Hi Stan, I am against all non-entitled bailouts, I don't care who is controlling the WH or Congress. If a company, or an individual for that matter, makes poor decisions they should be allowed to fail. Failing is how most of us learn, Edison brought that theory to light. ;)

It is sad that politics permeates even this newsletter. I come here because there is normally no political or religious discussion, just fun and information. There are soooo many outlets and places to rage on and argue about whose religion or politics is the best.

I think most people don’t even remember what socialism was truly about and clearly most people don’t understand the term “woke.” I guess you would prefer no social security when you retire, no Medicare when when you get old and would prefer to pay a toll to drive on every paved road or bridge which takes you to the library that you prefer no longer exists. I could go on but you get the picture.

Not that anyone cares if I comment here are not.

A late comment on the 3 electric companies idea it is just a way for them to jack up their huge profits. Plus the idea they are charging the rich more is not "sliding scale" for human devices, but allowing companies the right to tax wealth. Only the state can tax. In addition it will drive up demand when it should be reduced.

PG&E convinced the useless PUC to changed the contracts we agreed to paying only for our net use, and they have now raised rates again. They once more have the PUC in love with them, just like they did when Texas utilities squeezed us allowing PGE to rerate us overnight and getting the governor recalled, leading to Arnold who kept a auto registration reduction plunging us into billions in debt overnight. The PUC stayed in love until PGE installed used pipe marked defective that blew up under homes in San Bruno and defied a court order and funds promised to maintain growth under power lines. They didn't and one town was destroyed with residents trapped in a canyon, fires raged all over the state with proof of lines sparking into trees and grass. PGE now rotates us off power when dry with high winds.

The Governor had the chance to have the state take over but deleted to the bond owners against the best interest of Califurnuans

California's. I think he lacked big thinkers to plan it out because it's complex.

Santa Clara (next door) generates or buys all their own power and before ours went up paid 40% less per month and year for same use.

San Jose, ever incompetent set up a pseudo provider with residents paying 3 ways, transmission and local service from PGE and power from San Jose unless you want greener power & pay more to San Jose.

The only real solution is a state coop or letting consumers into the open power market. Businesses can, but they can also self or cogenerate.

We are the victims of corporate greed for power food and fuel and are rationed to a dwindling avail Doctors and hospitals. Most of us will sell our inflated houses and move on. Politically, I wouldn't live in any other state. No institutionalized Graff or bosses shaking down businesses and pols, but also no unions & too many guns. I'll have to expatriate.
