Hey Bill, My wife and I just returned from a trip through the Maritimes and then New England. Our 50th anniversary tour. New Brunswick (love Shediac), PEI, Nova Scotia, Maine, New Hampshire, Conneticut, NYC, Vineland NJ, Amish PA and then home to Ontario. I could count the Canadian plates on one hand in New England. Zip in Old Orchard Beach and Wildwood. We were asked repeatedly about the Canadian smoke poisoning USA, thanks to Fox News. My vehicle was keyed twice in USA. Going through NYC traffic was heavy but no big deal and very courteous. I95 in Jersey is amazing with no trucks in car lanes. August 19 is the date the next tarrifs are set to hit Canada. If that happens all cards are on the tables. Canada will retaliate massively. At that point in this mess it will become obvious the present administration is attempting to destroy Canada economically so that the USA absorbs Canada. And why? Oil, water, land, minerals, food production and a rebalancing of debt versus assets. Canadians are not stupid and we are quite tolerant yet this is enterning a new realm in relations. How jagged the path that has lead to this.

I’m sorry this administration and some of our citizens have treated you and others of our friends to the north so poorly. It truly is shameful. Especially since you have frankly always been the better neighbor, at least in my experience.

We’re actually headed to your country today. Up through 1000 Islands, across the Ogdensburg-Prescott Bridge and on to Montreal. You have a beautiful country with great people who are far better folks than many of ours.

I agree with Rick. Canadians need to do what they need to do, just like Greenland, etc. We have far too many things to work on here to look at taking on more.

How stupid are people to think Canada can control when the wind takes smoke. On the other side of the country, British Columbia is getting a lot of smoke from fires in and around Spokane. Maybe we should be instituting tariffs for that. Except we get that. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I.

Hi Ian. Check this out. Y’all may be next and who could blame you? By the way, your country is super and I miss it and the people terribly.

Don’t know if you follow her but many Canadians do. She’s right.

It is very important to invest time in the local arts and museums. They cannot depend on tourists and they make life much fuller.

Glad I missed that first story. I hate being disappointed.

Spokane is such a lovely city with great golfing. My husband an I spent a week there during our travels. I’m so sorry they’re going through all that trauma and damage.

It would be great if the 60Minutes gang could get back together on a better platform than network TV.

What is with parents these days? I was hoping the helicoptering phenom was behind us. But no ☹️? What is wrong with people??

One can only wonder about what the person who had that book was thinking. I mean, seriously? A LIBRARY book was the only thing that filled the bill for that project??
