I am blessed to have a sister who has the foresight to interview m my blessed father, asking him all about his childhood years, school, upbringing, college, Army WW2, marriage, fatherhood, jobs etc. She put it all on a DVD for posterity and gave a copy to each of us. Now we can share with our children.

Collin Powell - Outstanding Leader in Wrong Team!

His trust was exploited by Cheney and Rumsfeld and Bush Jr. was anyway weak leader who buckled under pressure/propaganda by men around him!

Thanks for sharing unknown aspects of the Great American Military Leader !

Thanks for sharing these stories about Colin Powell. Here's another that's fairly well known. Powell was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx, NY. I love this story for three reasons: One, I was also raised in the Bronx, two, I am Jewish, and three, CCNY was our mutual alma mater. We attended at the same time. He was 14 when he started working at Sickler's "Everything for the Baby" store. Mr. Sickler was Jewish. He employed Colin until he was 20 and they became -- and stayed -- close friends. Colin learned a lot of Yiddish from his respected and respectful employer and a good deal about Jewish culture in those years. The neighborhood then was an ethnic haven, but it was primarily Jewish. Colin never lost his respect and love for his "Jewish education" and his many Jewish friends.
