Perhaps, as I read this wonderful relatable story, a ‘windfall’ could come in another way…. Set up an entity that would take in donations, investments, ‘This Old House Italian Style’ renovations… Since a book will also be written regarding The Liberty House focus will be drawn to it. I for one have already contemplated giving to see this restoration and be able to visit one day and perhaps stay. I have friends in Italy….

The story of Liberty House reminds me of house hunting and seeing turn of the century houses available to buy. Tree trunks instead of shaved wood as it’s structure, decorations on the ceilings, banisters and walls, rich wood floors are all part of the charm. I lived in such a house at a very reasonable rent if I’d fix it up. I did a good job until the landlord had to sell the house. Well, he got a good price and I was able to rehab and live in a house I could never have afforded otherwise.
