Instead of a podcast, why not just try going live once in a while. No commitment. You can just do it when you are moved to share something. I think you have enough on your plate, right? Keep the lives short. People have no attention spans.

I enjoy your piece each day. It's interesting, clean, easy to get through quickly, and thoughtful. A podcast is a different animal. The podcasts I listen to have teams of people dedicated to creating content. Do you have time for that. Do you have a "media voice"? I'm not poo-pooing your idea, just encouraging you to consider the effort needed to do this successfully.

I enjoy reading. Listening to a podcast is too slow. The only “podcast” I’ve ever enjoyed was the first Serial about Adnon, which was a compelling, well told story and I happened to be driving a lot at the time.

loved the movie 'A League of Their Own' but only today learned of the feud...

and I don't know what I was reading in 2007 but the Amanda Knox story never caught my attention. I get Hulu so will watch it...

the rules of the theater - might should include those w/ every ticket sold...

going thru the being short article makes me cringe!!!! my ex was absolutely prejudiced against a lot, including short men. I, personally, find it sad that people, male & female, feel the need to have surgery to try to perfect themselves. I can understand after something like disfigurement after burns, etc., but just to "look like Barbie"... or even to take 10 yrs off. Nah, age gracefully...

Hunger in Paradise... hey, all of those socialists, & wanting to spread the wealth, & hatred towards the rich --- “If people on Nantucket are unable to get the food they need, I think it’s the decision point at which a lot of people say, ‘Maybe this isn’t for us,’ and they decide to leave. This could be teachers, first responders, multigeneration family-business operators who just say it’s too hard to make it, and we should find another place to build a life.” And with so many people on waiting lists and federal funding disappearing, that decision point may be coming sooner than anyone wants to admit ... so no more Paradise, no more vacationers... turn it into a socialist island, call it Cuba II. &/or raise minimum wage to $40/hr, then word will spread, many more will move there, building will increase, till more little apartments are needed... then can reverse the trend, tear down the mansions, build lots of little high rise apts... till the minimum wage folks can't afford to pay for the influx of others coming in --- oopsie, tables get turned, California, here we come....

I’d try your podcast (like you asked), but they are not something I usually do, though I understand they are big with younger folks which I ain’t.

I’m 6’5” and more and more I envy shorter folks especially when crammed into small spaces and banging my often banged head on something. I also SURE don’t get prejudice against short folks. That’s just stupid. Like all prejudice

Used to listen to podcasts when I was commuting two hours a day. Now I just don’t have any interest, or the ability to sit for an hour and listen. I do catch the odd one on YouTube, but they are usually 15 minutes or less. I did get value out of the ones I listened to, but not enough ny more to make it worth paying for the privilege.

In my humble opinion, Substack has gone to way too many podcasts or oral accounts of whatever and I, for one, have no time to tie myself to my phone or my I Pad just to listen to someone talk. This is just me though. There may be others who disagree. I was thinking that If I had a sedentary, mindless job where I didn’t have to engage with others, then yes, I could listen to pods, music or whatever was available. But it’s difficult to pay attention to what’s being said and do most things that require thinking. There is one podcast that I do listen to religiously and that is Keith Olbermann’s twice a week one. I won’t miss his on a dare but I listen to it before I get out of bed those mornings(Monday and Thursday on You Tube or wherever you listen to your podcasts).

Regarding Amanda Knox, I understand the friendship between Amanda Knox and Monica Lewinsky -- both became very public figures as a result of scandal. In my opinion, that's where the similarities end. Amanda Knox was not a participant in the event that led to her notoriety and could have done nothing beforehand to prevent it.

Regarding a podcast, I think it could work under the right conditions. Just you, or guests? Single topic, or will you hit everything in the daily email? Short (15-30 minutes), or Joe Rogan-long? There are a lot of podcasts competing for our ears, and only so many hours in the day -- it would have to be compelling.
