all the $$$$ spent on wedding stuff - & people say the economy is in the dumpster? Who is paying? The couple-to-be or are they expecting their loyal friends to fork over the $$$? Even if it's a marvelous trip, it's big $. And of course, the wedding itself, will it also be a lavish affair? Expected gifts? Honeymoon to $$$... then the divorce after so many yrs (well, hopefully not).
I didn't click on any other links, but they all involved $$ &/or time devoted to making big $$$ or fame. Fame as a cheesehead, er monger? Really? That's what's important in this world?
How about some links about volunteering? Yep, gotta get a plug in whenever I can about the benefits of volunteering. It does your community good, it does the agency good, it does the recipients of the agency good, it does your heart good - it's a good for all good.
I’m more of a British film fan, or perhaps I should just say Scottish film fan. But British primarily because if the actor is any good, they are quite kind to them. Many if not most are classically trained so have a wide range of acting abilities. I appreciate that.
South Park did an excellent show about the Labubu craze, mixed in with other quite funny material.
Using the White House to sell Teslas was one thing - now they are shilling for sweatshirts? Three generations of grifters. Probably made in China.
Congrats to Emilia D’Albero for her well deserved honor. Lots of effort required to develop a natural talent to world class levels. Im sure some people won’t comprehend the significance of it is not part of their small world.
People volunteer in many ways and for a multitude of worthy causes. I believe strongly it is a personal thing that should require no recognition or acknowledgement by others if it is done with the right intent.
A more severe form of narcissistic abuse, gaslighting is often carried out subtly in front of others: ie, coming in days after 1 commenter & questioning that commenter's (me) comments. IE.
The comment subtly discredits the target in front of an audience
I had a personal opinion about the cheesemonger's choice of devoting time/$$$ & Darrell comes in & points out "Im sure some people won’t comprehend the significance of it is not part of their small world." HE COULD HAVE STOPPED AT SAYING HIS OPINION WAS IT WAS A WELL DESERVED AWARD.
& he commented on my comment, found NO WHERE in Murphy's newsletter, about volunteering. Did I say anything about the need for anyone to receive personal recognition??? Nope, but Darrel SUBTLY implies otherwise:
"require no recognition or acknowledgement by others if it is done with the right intent."
When a narcissist accuses you of doing the very thing they are doing, they are using a manipulative tactic called projection. By shifting their own flaws and behaviors onto you, (as Darrell just tried to do in his reply to me above) they avoid accountability to protect their fragile ego.
Avoids accountability: Narcissists have a fragile sense of self and an overwhelming need to appear perfect. Admitting to a flaw would threaten their idealized self-image, so they avoid taking responsibility at all costs.
Shifts blame: Instead of owning their behavior, they accuse you of it to make you feel responsible for everything that goes wrong. This keeps them in a position of power and control.
as I knew would happen, Darrell 'attacked' me again, in his reply to me again. I knew he would HAVE to have the last word. I am including this, not in any way to continue the original comments in Murphy's newsletter, which is what the daily should be about, but to once again show how Darrel is a narcissist. No doubt at all. He goes on & on & on.
Narcissists need to have the last word to maintain control, uphold their inflated sense of superiority, and try to manipulate others
Reasons for this behavior:
Control and Power: Having the last word gives the narcissist a sense of power and control over the conversation, the situation, and the other person's emotions and actions.
Maintaining Superiority: It reinforces their ego and the belief that they are always correct and superior to others in any discussion.
Manipulative Tactics: Their final statements can be used to gaslight you, deny the truth, reframe the situation
Fear of Being Wrong: A narcissist's inability to admit fault means they can't let a conversation end without asserting their perceived rightness, even if the evidence proves them wrong.
It’s amazing how you manage to make everything about you, even when it isn’t. Being the loudest person in the room doesn’t mean you’re right. It just means you’re loud.

Oh, you don’t like being treated the way you treat me? That must suck.
If my opinions annoy you, you gotta hear the ones I keep to myself.

You just completely and accurately described yourself. That’s why you are so defensive.
