Are you Grateful for Nature? Reflecting on the infinite beauty of nature calms the nervous system and floods our mind and soul with gratitude. It is always changing as is life. We can flow like a river and experience a ripple effect of the impact our lives have had on others and vice versa.
Grateful for these prompts and the opportunity to comment.
I am very grateful to publish opinion pieces in the Timmins Daily Press of late, writing about artists and events I am so passionate about. I’ve also taken to writing and doing interviews and sharing videos on my Substack, Perfectly Imperfectly Lynne. It’s my passion hobby😍
I agree with Theresa. I'm grateful for you Bill and Understandably. I'm not always able to read your newsletter but when I do, you never fail to disappoint. I'm grateful that your insights get me thinking about things I rarely if ever think about. Jimmy Valvano advised that every day we should spend some time in thought, and laugh and cry. You help us with that mission so thank you!
Grateful to be here reading what you’ve written on “Understandably” today, Bill. Thankful to have been a part of your community for several years now. Hope you and your wonderful family have a great Thanksgiving.
I liked your unique approach to thinking about being grateful! Very thought provoking! I am thankful for this newsletter to enjoy nearly everyday as I have my morning coffee—and to have that I am thankful for you, Bill, for writing it and your goal to provide a quality product! Keep up the good work!
What was interesting for me was that just this morning, in that time between waking up and getting out of bed, I was thinking of all the people I knew in high school who are no longer with us. Despite all my trials and tribulations (what exactly is a tribulation?) I am still here, alive, healthy for my age, active and engaged. I guy I knew in high school died oin a self-induced car crash back in the very early 80’s and this morning I saw his face as clear as if he were standing in front of me. It was nice, but a little creepy!
I always try to spend a few moments being grateful for my life every day. I live in a beautiful place, have a roof over my head, food in my belly and money in the bank, which is more than a lot of people have.
I could really relate to your suggestion to be grateful for hope and faith. This past year I had a very important family relationship broken by a mere misunderstanding, where I was falsely accused of a heinous act I did not commit. So for five months I was forbidden to see my grandkids and I had to attend family therapy. The only things that got me through the horrible ordeal was faith and hope. I almost lost both on a number of occasions during that time, but I didn’t give up. Now the broken relationship has been healed after a lot of hard work. I’m thankful to have my family back.
You know the best part about hitting rock bottom? At least you know you're standing on solid ground. This saying pulled me through a tumultuous time in my life. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have gained over my life and those who were there to teach me. Whether they knew it or not.
I am grateful for the good and the bad. They all get us somewhere we need to be or focus. There is a scene in the movie “The Guardian” where the barkeep tells Kevin Costner, getting older is earned.
Maggie McGlone: If my muscles hurt, it just means I've used them. If it hurts to walk up the stairs, it's just cause l've done it a hundred times to lay down next to a man who loved me. My face may have wrinkles, but I have laid under hundreds of skies on sunny days. I look like this, well, because I drank and I smoked and I lived and I loved and I screwed my way through a pretty damn good life. Getting old isn't bad. It's earned.
I thought that was profound. All about perspective. Gratitude is a Perspective- thanks for the reminder Bill.

One thing to really be thankful for is that we don’t live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I ran across this in my Ground News issue yesterday: https://ground.news/article/jakarta-bans-dog-and-cat-meat-sales-to-curb-rabies-in-win-for-animal-rights?utm_source=mobile-app&utm_medium=article-share
As bad as we may think things are here, it’s always worse in other spots.
Thank you for your message today. Very thought provoking and a message I need to hear.

And I cannot imagine living in a city of 42 million. We have 12,000 or so people in my town and that is more than enough.
Love your gratitude list!!
Very inspiring!!
I am grateful for you, your gift of writing and your sharing of that gift!
