another marvelous story!! And what a humble person!!!
not nearly as great a read, especially since it's a novel, but this reminds me of a book we read in a book club I'm in. "The Lost Letters of Aisling" by Cynthia Ellingson
Like many other readers, I'm really enjoying the stories you are sharing this week, as well as your suggestion of how we might connect them to our lives in some way. Well done Bill. Well done.
I’d also never heard of this man and the lives he saved. I am continually moved by the people who have applied their skills to missions far beyond the scope of their personal lives and not thought it was anything remarkable. That it was just the right thing to do. Thank you, Bill.
In 1988 I lived in England in same town as this man. On BBC TV that year there was a popular program Thats Life that I watched. I remember to this day the episode on Nicholas Winton. He said later he’d been invited to the studio under false pretences (he really didnt want public recognition). If you watch to the end … wow. Here’s the link. Since then he’s become Sir Nicholas Winton and his children have dedicated their lives to telling his story. He passed at 106 years old. https://youtu.be/OqqbM1B-mPY?si=lalwSVB4ckHE8cFd
From dark times comes such an inspiring story. Really needed that today, thank you. So good to remember that there really are everyday saints walking among us.
So a simple sincere Thank You for sharing that story with everyone.
Another forgotten story about personal honor and sacrifice.
There were a lot of real heroes back then. Many recognized. Many more anonymous.
I hope it makes us all take stock of ourselves and answer to ourselves honestly. Would I measure up to that kind of selfless integrity when really called for.
What a moving story. I had not heard of him but am continually awed by the courage in these stories. Inspiring!

(Always looking for a good book over here! Thanks for posting! )
Thanks for inspiring story of selfless work for others with no expectation for credit or acknowledgement but just doing what he could to combat evil
Thank you for using your gift and your platform to share this story and his name.

One of the unknown masses behind all great movements who was blessed with the courage and inspiration to try and make a difference.
A beautiful story heading into Easter Sunday. Thank you.
Anthony Hopkins starred in a wonderful movie about this story called "One Life." Great movie for this holy week.

More pieces of Wintons’ selfless legacy. Yes - we all are here for such a time as this to create a legacy that reaches out and transforms lives.
There are so many people that have such interesting and compelling pasts of which we know nothing unless, like this story, by accident.
