As a denizen of a southeastern state, a Boomer who spent much of her life in the sun, vitamin D deficiency wasn’t something I had to worry about. As a result, I took the advantages of copious sunlight for granted. It was only much later that I learned that those folks who lived in more northerly climes ran the risk of being deficient and it wasn’t until the use of sunscreen would basically turn one into an equivalent Yankee(😉). The Alzheimer’s/ Vitamin D study is interesting and I hope in these days of scientific disruption it can be followed up on. We’ve always been told that the sun is the source of life. Funny how we’re finally starting to discover the truth of it. As for the over exposure to the sun, blonds, redheads and the fair skinned run big risks getting too much sunshine but the last I read, 15 minutes of exposure will give you enough. Kind of plays havoc with the golf though.
