Hey Bill. I note with incredulity the absence on Canadian mainstream news items about the war in Ukraine and the war in Gaza. Is this the six month memory syndrome or over saturation or ? Pull an item out of the hat. I mean CTV last night did a 5 + minute item on this group of Ostriches and Avian Flu exposure including an interview with Dr. Oz. On a day when we needed to know why journalists were killed by an errant (oops we're sorry) IDF attack on a hospital. Truly not picking sides, OCt 7 was inexcusable. But what's with our collective memory? Are we burying what we fear for the future?

Sounds like you are getting plenty of that news coverage already from your current sources? I have to scroll past all that in the NYT and WaPo and would never watch a Dr. Oz interview.

No idea what these wraps are. No McDs for me. Ever. Last time was perhaps in the 70s?

ooops, I never heard of the snack wrap. One more thing I've missed, I guess, by never going to a fast-food place in ???? years...

So people had a soft spot for a menu item that, in retrospect, they may not really have had? I feel like this is the mom jeans syndrome. Nobody liked them, they were hideous at best, but when mid-rise jeans came about, people pined for mom jeans again (why? I have absolutely no idea they are still hideous). I think it's more about the fact that when it was there you could get it if you wanted to, or not. But when it was gone, so was your free will.

Some things are better left gone. Honestly, I'd never heard of snack wraps until today. I learn something new everyday on Understandably! :)

No idea what mom jeans are but I probably wear them. Low cut ones hit in the worst spot on my body, and the slim cut ones make my legs look like sausages. I like the higher rise and comfort fit. If that makes them mom jeans, so be it. The jeans I currently have are more than a decade old, and I am not looking forward to having to try to find a new pair when these ones go.

Never had a snack wrap, likely never will. if I go to McDonald’s it’s for either a McMuffin or a Filet-o-fish. Can’t remember the last time we had fast food.

And why do we need to know all the bad news? I really wish that the evening news had to start and end with a good news story. Our local one often ends with a good news story, but the rest of the hour is filled with negativity. Not trying g to bury m6 head in the sand, but let’s start spreading positivity into the airwaves.
