Our book club choice one time was 'The Day the World Came to Town'. Great book. Wish it could be as the intro says: "A Newfoundlander likes to put his arm around a person & say, 'It's going to be all right. I'm here. It's going to be okay. We're your friend. We're your buddy. We've got you.' That's the way it's always been. That's the way it always will be. And that's the way it was on September eleventh."
And people in the US came together for a brief time... didn't last long. Now I've heard too many, read too many times online, from liberals who have ended so-called friendships, have quit having family members to dinner because of their opposing political views. In the area I live, a man was selling a perfectly good trailer, to hitch to a car, at a very good price. A woman came to look at it, the election was over, she saw his Trump sign in the garage & yelled at him she wouldn't buy anything from a Hitler lover. I have never heard any stories of the reverse happening, a Republican, not even a MAGA supporter, ending a friendship or refusing to have a meal w/ a family member because of opposing political opinions. Of course, liberals will now be thinking 'that's 'cause ALL those MAGA rednecks are too stupid to know they're being made fun of hahahaha'... All the assumptions about Republicans... libs thinking all R's are racists, hate gays, etc., are opposed to protecting the environment.... Libs thinking that are, well, wrong. That's like a conservative thinking ALL liberals support ALL abortions up to the 8th month of pregnancy...
I've said soooo many times, I volunteer many hours a week, play games several days a month, w/ a variety of people, dance w/ a variety of people, have dinner/lunch w/ a variety of people - some of those I know we have different political views, many we have no idea what political views we have, & in both situations, WE DON'T CARE.
Oh, but get online like Murphy's site, where the links are almost always left-leaning & the most outspoken commenters, & the most generalizing outspoken commenters, are far left-leaning, there's most likely no room for agreement. No sense of: God Bless America. It's going to be all right.

I've read that basically everyone below the impact zone of Floor 78-84 in the South Tower survived. I guess like only 4 people. He must have been one of them coming from 44th floor.
I remember that day well. We were supposed to be training on some new software but spent the morning watching the news. It changed the world and not in a good way.
Will be interesting to see what comes out of the Supreme Court. Do they rule to the letter of the law, or to their political leaning. Doesn’t really matter, Trump has done so much damage to the Us that it will take years to fix, if it can be done.
