so, swearing on the Bible, brought up 1 memory: When I handed my husband at the time, now my ex, a Bible, which belonged to one of my sons, & asked him to swear he was not having an affair, he looked at the Bible, turned it around, looked at the inside cover, then loosely placed his hand on it & swore he was not having an affair. Ha! I wish 'liar, liar, pants on fire' was a reality; it would be funny to watch. But, in his mind, he was not swearing on "his mother's Bible", so in his twisted mind, it was ok.
The list given for procrastinating was good.
When I was a Weight Watcher leader, for a bit over 15 yrs, & quit when I moved out of state, after divorcing that guy whose pants caught on fire after 37 yrs of marriage --- anyway, during those yrs, when a member would find 'excuses' (procrastinate) about something s/he wanted/needed to do, I handed the member a little round wooden disk that I printed the letters "TUIT" on. Sometimes they'd get it right away; sometimes would take a minute or so to figure out what they had...
I think I had a couple of those “toit”s. I could procrastinate with the best of them at times. Now that I’m on my own, the only one I hurt by putting things off is either my dog or myself. PNut won’t let me put her off. She’s a tough task mistress.
Okay, granted we’re already in Montreal with a flight tonight to Iceland and then a ship to Greenland stopping part way to view the eclipse, hopefully the Captain finds a cloud free spot.
Not that I’m addicted mind you! This will just be our THIRD!!

where I live, on April 8, 2024 there was a total solar eclipse, reaching full darkness for 3 minutes and 15.2 seconds — the period when the Sun was completely covered. We all sat in our driveways w/ our glasses on & watched it. And listened as the birds went silent.
Yep. The max time on that one was just a hair under 4.5 minutes. We were in Texas for that one. This one is just over 2 minutes west of Iceland which is where we’ll be. Fingers crossed!
Sometimes procrastination is a good thing. There are several occasions where I delayed (procrastinated) sending something and then the next day my boss was in a panic because the document had errors. Sometimes it’s procrastination sometimes it’s intuition.

I started an apathy club but no one cared to join, so I thought I’d start a procrastinators club but I never got around to it.

We were in Austin for the 2024 eclipse and the description matches what we witnessed. Truly unforgettable!
