As for worrying and living longer, I guess those conducting the study didn’t think about those who worry but do nothing because they fear the outcome of finding out about a problem, eg., not going to the dentist for fear of pain or cost which will lead to many bad, long term consequences because of bad teeth.
Personally, having been raised by a worry wart, my philosophy has been one of if the situation is something you can do something about, then do it rather than worry about it. If the situation is something over which you have no control, then give up the worry. There’s no doubt a middle ground somewhere in all that. People who refuse to worry but who are smart enough to know that avoidance can have bad consequences so they go ahead and face whatever is in front of them, whatever the cost.
