Series of events

My motto is basically: If you can't do it, find someone has done it and who has written about it and ask to share it. Also, 7 other things worth knowing today.

During the early days of the pandemic, I thought about—or maybe just dreamed about—waiting the whole thing out somewhere tropical and warm. I even wrote about it for Business Insider at one point. (Short version: Barbados would have been pretty awesome, but in the end, it simply wasn’t feasible for my family.)

However, when I came across an essay recently from someone who (a) thought about something similar, but then (b) actually did it, I asked if I could share it here.
