Hi Bill - I saw an ad for this somewhere & thought it might pair nicely with the Life Story Interviews you offer. It's handwriting, transferred to calligraphy, of your own or a loved one. The ad I saw mentioned someone who wanted to preserve his or her mom's handwriting before her Parkingson's progressed more. The free version doesn't connect the letters. The paid version does, but it's not expensive, imo. It adds it as a font to Word or perhaps whatever you choose.
Interesting. My mom was a prolific letter writer, I have three hanging folders full of letters from her that are awaiting date-sorting. Her writing is very crips and clean, it's a treat to go through and re-read them. My writing, on the other hand, is a mess. Sometimes I can't even read what I wrote.
that is interesting. My handwriting has gotten worse, especially when I'm in a hurry. My mom's was very 'pretty'. She was born in the days when lefties were forced to write right-handed, so it was surprising it was nice. I don't think I have any of her writing left. I have some of my dad's; his was also nice.
What would it be like if you had your moms transferred to a font & you used it for various occasions in your typing?
I have some of my dad’s handwriting, even have a letter from my grandfather. I am not sure I type enough these days. The main typing I have been doing is compiling a bunch of my journals into electronic forms, not sure I would want that in my mom’s script. But it is an interesting idea, could be neat for wedding announcements or anniversary/special birthday party invites.

Nothing new about cheap dates, went on plenty of them in the 70's and 80's. An afternoon sitting on a barn roof in the middle of nowhere, or a day at the zoo can be just as much a date as dinner and a movie. The former encourages conversation a lot more than the latter.
Men out of the workforce? How are they supporting themselves? Moved back in with Mom and Dad, being fed and cared for?
And yay for the ban on cell phones. As helpful as they are, the things are a bane on society.
what I thought about the voice study & the 'changing of minds' or sales, whatever... is all the political blathering that goes on online, everyone saying the same thing over & over, trying to be clever, show some intelligence, sometimes successfully, sometimes not --- but no voices, & to my understanding, no convincing, no, gee, you've been right all along, what was I thinking, I understand now, I agree, I will 'switch'...
Meanwhile, one of my now daughters-in-law, before they married, I fell in love w/ her for several reasons, one being she forbade any media during meals. That still is the case, & they've been married for over 10 yrs. They go on more hikes & camping than any fancy dates.
Hubs now & I had many cheap dates before we married. We met & married over a very short period of time. We talked & talked & talked. I knew him & he knew me better than my ex, who I divorced after 37 yrs, & after 'dating' for 6 yrs prior to that. He, unknowingly, mimicked the voice inflections, facial expressions & other gestures of the woman he was having an affair w/.
eta: after my divorce, when I started dating again, I guess I was ready to talk & really get to know folks. One guy at one point said to me he had told me things he had never told anyone. And he wasn't at all embarrassed about it. I thought that was great. We didn't get serious, but remained friends. He is no longer living.
NY Post: The number of adults who are “not in the labor force” (NILF) surged to an all-time high in June to 105.8 million. “We’ve got a big problem…with the flight from work of prime-age men,” said labor economist Nicholas Eberstadt at the conservative American Enterprise Institute.
When the working-age population is about 210m, I have a hard time believing the info above is accurate. Or frankly, even close.
Well, the source is the NY Post. And then consider the source the Post used. If it is tied to this administration I have no idea how they would even know with the way agencies have been gutted.

Agreed. There are about 120 million males 20 yrs and older in the U.S.
