Well, I leave my “daily” things in the same spot every day (learned that from a memory class many years ago and I also take a daily multivitamin. I don’t think either hurts.
A couple of ideas to help with the car keys and vitamins: When placing your car keys in your coat pocket say to yourself "coat pocket". That way, when you go looking for them later you are likely to recall saying "coat pocket" and look there. The best way to remember to take your daily vitamin is to actually look forward to it. When you arise tomorrow morning tell yourself "I can't wait to take my vitamin today". I keep mine on my kitchen counter so when I put my breakfast dishes/silverware in the sink they are sitting an arms length away.
You are right - it seems a bit of a correlation type study vs actual causation. For me, I find that it is a matter of not being able to pay attention. There are so many distractions that happen in daily life, now more than ever, that you only "skim" over things that you would have normally paid attention to. I have been attempting a forced mindfulness - consciously staying in the moment. It's a habit that's still developing.
You might try reading The Power of Now. I found it to be a powerful book.
The Power of Now
Book by Eckhart Tolle
The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment is a book by Eckhart Tolle. It is a discussion about how people interact with themselves and others. The concept of self-reflection and presence in the moment are presented along with simple exercises for the achievement of its principles. Published in the late 1990s, the book was recommended by Oprah Winfrey and has been translated into 33 languages. As of 2009, it was estimated that three million copies had been sold in North America.
I don't take a multi, but take multi of others... based on dr recs. And I never forget - they're right there on the kitchen counter, taken after coffee, then right after breakfast...
World Cup - according to mayor of LA, the vandalism will take over a year to repair, so at this time it's said the United States and Canada will play their first games of the group stage on June 12, 2026, with matches slated for SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which means that will quite possibly have to be changed...
Seriously why I subscribe primarily is for the further reading and investigation your open links afford me. I Am a life- long learner and curious!! Yes I can attest to MVM but of my choosing and after my research! Oh Yes, my medical and research skills have driven my life and choices and are foundational. Yet, the Holy Spirit supersedes and Gods Wisdom prevails!! I press on and learn on!!
I just read this in the 6/11/25 National Geographic:
Whether you should actually take a multivitamin is still a controversial topic, though the general consensus is that most people don’t need them. One 2024 study from the National Cancer Institute found no association between daily multivitamin use and a lower risk of death for healthy adults.
Still, in some cases, carefully considered supplementation can address specific nutrient gaps in certain populations.
“Multivitamins aren’t magic pills or meant to replace a nutrient-rich diet—they’re support tools,” says registered dietitian and holistic health expert Samantha Peterson. “They won’t prevent death or replace lifestyle habits like whole foods, sleep, movement, or stress regulation, but they can help bridge gaps that are nearly inevitable with today’s food system, aging, or modern stress loads.”
The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion also recommends older adults take vitamins like B12 and D, as they may have trouble getting enough nutrients from their diets. Often older adults have decreased appetites and don’t eat as much, so their bodies can also have trouble absorbing these nutrients.
While taking a multivitamin may benefit some individuals, experts warn against taking multivitamins without consulting a healthcare professional.
Individuals who take certain medications, such as blood thinners, antibiotics, or diuretics, may require targeted supplementation rather than a multivitamin, says dietician Susan Schachter.
sometimes multivitamins just give you really expensive pee. I have taken one a day for years, not because I think they do anything, but just to make sure I am getting anything I might be missing through my diet. Really, people should take vitamin D and the B complex and not just a multi. There is lots and lots of information on a plethora of supplements people should take, but you could go broke buying them all and I am not sure most of them do much if you eat a balanced diet. Atomic Habits talks about habit stacking, which is a good way to remember to take your daily dose. Just tack onto something you already do.
My keys? We have a key rack just up from our front door, and my keys go there as soon as I walk into the door. No issues with trying to find them later. It's become a habit now.
Was very sad to hear Brian Wilson has left us. The Beach Boys was the sound track to my life in Grade 10, not so much because I liked them but more my BFF did and that was all she would listen to. I can still go back to 1976 listening to some of their songs.
I'm w/ you Melissa, altho I don't take a multi. My dr has me do a full blood work up (I'm almost 75, & her clientele is 65+, & she doesn't prescribe meds unless absolutely necessary). Based on that work up, I take D, B complex, B12 & because of age & female, calcium, plus I like to take a daily C vit.
I grew up w/ The Beach Boys, & when my youngest was just getting into music he 'found' The Beach Boys & was shocked I knew all the words :-)

I look forward to my first glass of water in the morning. Then I do some stretching, then get coffee & computer time , etc…
