Thanks for the link to the NYC tunnel article. If you haven’t read it already, The Power Broker by Robert Caro is a fascinating read on the development of bridges, tunnels and transportation in NYC and of course…the power behind it all.
good info about Spirit, altho we've experienced nonrefundable cancellations. I don't think we've ever actually flown w/ them, but after reading this, I also hope they make it thru bankruptcy
I remember when standing desks were introduced & immediately became all the rage!! I never purchased one.
But re: the 5 Lifestyle Habits, I'd say I follow all 5
I've been eating healthy/basically Mediterranean diet for 20+ years; move my body often, altho have had some unfortunate leg/foot surgeries the last 2 yrs which have slowed me down some but I'm back to dancing which is +++ & dancing is supposed to be good for memory; I have very strong faith; my relationships are strong, during these awfully divisive times I've been able to say many times I haven't lost any friends because of it & actually don't know the political leanings of some, plus have many social connections via dance, game playing, volunteering, various clubs in our area; Lifelong learning - always reading, usually 3 different types of books at a time, & would say a purpose in life as stated above is volunteering, which was passed down to me from both of my parents, which I hope is being passed to my sons & grandkids.
that's how I feel about NPR & NYT, altho today I did follow the link to NYT re: the tunnel ... truth be told, I would be interested in 'the rest of the story' wondering if there were DEI hires...
I bought a new car this summer and I can tell you that it's a pain in the you-know-what dealing with car dealerships/salespeople. They did add on a protective coating and stuff and then I was sold on extended warranty. But as the new cars have so much computer-related items, I thought it prudent to add the warranty so I don't have to worry about a catastrophic meltdown costing me thousands of dollars. Is peace of mind worth the price I paid? I hope so. If I don't buy another car again in my lifetime, I'd be happy as a clam.
Looks like some good weekend reading when my emails slow down; all except the political ads though. I’ll be so glad when the election is over and my filters will actually work. Have a good weekend Bill.

driving thru the tunnel --- made me think of the Little Dutch Boy, sticking his thumb into the dike when reading about the wooden plug.
