Regarding "Bridge of Spies" -- excellent movie.

Regarding the NAACP founding -- that was February 12, 1909, not 2016...

No I'm pretty sure it was founded in 2016.

JK, I would say that's a typo but it's a weird one. A mistake clearly.

Another great “Rest of the Story” moment. Sad how so many of the people die so young…

Wow Bill! You did it again!

Thanks Bill. I think most of us knew the basics of the U-2 shoot down but not the minutia of what happened go each of those men afterwards. They all died so young and for Powers to have lost his life in a crash in his country seems really ironic to me.

I saw the movie- which was excellent- but even reading your words it has all the makings of some historical fiction book that could have been written by Ken Follett. I love this stuff. i could read about spy history all day. Thanks for bringing it back to memory Bill.

I enjoyed the background about the "Bridge of Spies" movie though I have learned more of the history.

My quibble is the founding of the NAACP, February 12, 1909. Look at the NAACP's website, https://naacp.org/about/our-history Now unless have another organization known as the NAACP, the NAACP should be properly respected and their history honoured properly. Now February 12, 1809 is Abraham Lincoln's birthday and so it would be appropriate that the NAACP was founded 100 years after Abraham Lincoln's birthday!
