I was sorry to see readers thought you were serious about the Fax joke yesterday...

I remember the BIG news put out leading up to the grand introduction of Segway. ALL the hype about the new invention coming that was going to change the world!! We were all guessing what it was going to be!! I was disappointed, as were those around me... however, regarding your shower thoughts, long ago I wanted to 'invent' a waterproof tablet for the shower so people could jot down the ideas they had in the shower 💡hmmm, one more invention 'down the drain'...

That was a nice long read about Point Roberts! I've never heard of it, & now want to visit. Very interesting about their school situation... now only 5 students in the local school, while there are 30-40 being home-schooled due to parents wanting traditional values, morals & common-sense that have served them well in the past.

Bill, your “shower thoughts” brought to mind my father’s way of working out an engineering problem: he’d go out in the yard and hit 3-4 golf balls and walk back & forth across the yard to collect them and repeat. Never more than 4 balls at a time and once he was onto the solution, would immediately come inside and write down what was needed to get done. When this “block” occurred late at night, he’d take his fly rod and “practice” casting… The neighbors often wondered whether he made any holes-in-one, or what kind of fish he caught in the yard 🙂

Just for the record, I knew it was a joke.

Another great idea generating location is a long drive anywhere - but particularly in the country/mountains/seashore - not the Holland Tunnel or expressways!

I do my best thinking while listening to soft music before sleep or on long cycle rides.

It seems the human brain works better when we relax (ie shower, walk, sleep). Research suggests our brains work much more during sleep than while awake so maybe that’s why the term “sleep on it” sticks

Here’s a link to the deportation story. It’s pretty horrible especially since some reliable source(maybe it was CBS?)said that something like 70% of those men had no criminal record of any kind. The whole problem being, record or no, is the complete lack of DUE PROCESS. That the Supreme Court is even mulling over the question is a huge problem.

The Hope Diamond in the Smithsonian(so far)is blue. It is a whopping 45.52 carat, blue/violet diamond mined in India. It has a history and was once owned by a very rich family in my hometown. Having seen the Hope and the one being auctioned, aside from being rare, that seems to be all it has going for it.

After the AP ruling came down, my thought was that decision will likely end up in front of a suspect Supreme Court. For 47, it’s personal.

Since I’ve relocated much further south, I’m dialed in to Caribbean weather and you’re right. The winds aloft have been very active for the U.S. as well as down this way. Another thing to mention is the possibility of a fairly active hurricane season or tropical storms at least. At this point when ocean temps should be relatively cool, they aren’t and the warm water is deeper which is the reason storms stand a good chance of intensifying. Maybe keep praying for those winds to continue. They’re what can’t disrupt a big storm.

As for shower inspiration, down here very few houses have water heaters. There’s no need for it really as regular tap water is better than tolerable and a cool shower is welcome. It’s rare though to just loll around in the shower. No inspiration here at least.

Any elimination of due process is a slippery slope for us all. It also goes directly in the face of the constitution, something elected officials swear an oath to uphold.
