Still waiting for some recognition for the LADIES who, if memory serves, have won the World Cup something like FOUR times! Yet somehow everyone is going bananas over this men’s team? Pu-leeze!
Most US soccer fans that I know (and I know a lot) are very proud of the women's team. It's just that the men's tournament is literally going on right now!
John “Clarkie” Souza resided in my town (York, PA) for a number of years before his passing at the age of 91 (in 2912). He was so generous - he came to my son’s soccer game and signed pictures and copies of the book “The Game of Their Lives” for the kids. Their victory was truly remarkable.
One would have to be dead not to know that. I suppose the men should consider themselves lucky to finally be able to field a team that is still in the running after all this time.
