Intermittent fasting may work, providing you don’t stuff yourself with more calories than you need when you eat. Really we should just eat when we are hungry, but that is easier said than done.
US politics are whacko. How can a governor cancel elections?
I am happy in a way that Alberta got enough votes to separate. The West has been ignored by the federal government for decades Maybe this will prompt more equality in treatment. Somehow I doubt it will.
I never understood this intermittent fasting thing. It's like the bone broth diet, I don't get that one either. I eat when I'm hungry. Sometimes that means breakfast is at 7am, sometimes it's at 10:30am. If I eat it early, I am usually hungry for lunch; otherwise I don't typically eat again until dinner.
Intermittent fasting allows the pancreas to rest. That is the primary reason. Or so I’ve been told. I eat breakfast and stop eating by 5 or 6, but I’m retired so that makes timing easy.
I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for years. Started in 2019 because my weight was getting out of control. I had tried every diet that had come down the pike ever since I was 13 years old. This is the only method that has worked for me where the weight I’ve lost has stayed off. My routine is a healthy breakfast every day some time between 8 and 9 usually. Were I not retired, I would adjust accordingly. Then I’ll eat a healthy, balanced lunch usually between 2-3; after which I’ll eat nothing else until the next morning. So I end up fasting 16-18 hours. One thing I haven’t done is deprive myself of things I enjoy. I just no longer go overboard eating a lot of sweets. I’ll have an occasional drink too but rarely the sweet, fizzy kind. I’m assiduous about drinking my two liters of water throughout the day and yes, the kidneys adjust. Knock wood, I’ve had a minimum of health issues and since I’m staring 80 in the face in 18 days I consider that a plus. I’ve come to understand my grandfather’s philosophy of eating to live instead of living to eat. Thus method has worked for me but it may not be for everyone. That’s what makes the world whirl.
Breakfast when I've taken the dogs out so around 9 am. Then whatever I feel like at 1 or 2 pm. Nothing after 3 pm. This works. What's more it's psychologically pleasing. One feels it's worth eating nothing during the empty hours because food again in the full hours is so satisfying. I don't eat much sugar now and go easy on carbs but otherwise I just eat what I like. I have no convex tummy. Hurrah.
Some things are NEVER going to be on my list. Skipping breakfast is right near the top.
Yep, Rick…the most important meal of the day!

Bone broth? No thanks.
