This was powerful. Not only because of the context of story, but also the lesson of avoiding judgement in the absence of evidence.

the note regarding the Macys Day Parade- there's a little known fact/local lore that the first Macys Day Parade was in Haverhill MA- would love to hear the full story on that- and btw the author of the Archie comic books was from Haverhill and it was based on his high school years there

There has always been a lot of gossip floating around Shakespeare; whether or not he wrote everything he had his name on up to whether or not he had an affair with Good Queen Bess 🙄. With success comes sniping and jealousy so what we’ve been led to believe all these many years later has got to be viewed with suspicion; or should be at least.

It’s no wonder why our first deep space telescope was named after Edwin Hubble. I can only imagine how his news was greeted in 1924. Look at where we are today thanks to Mr Hubble.

Good for New Zealand’s women! There are elements here in the US that would see us get rid of the 19th Amendment altogether. There are a lot of malign interests running around loose these days though unfortunately.

Love Casablanca, it is an outstanding movie! But then I love Humphrey Bogart as well. I am finding that I enjoy movies from the 50's, 60's and 70's more than the stuff they are putting out today.

Shakespeare, not really interested, as are we not all entitled to a private life? What does it matter all these centuries later what his relationship with his wife was? Maybe that was the whole intent, that no one else needs to know what their relationship was like. We really need to lose this fascination with other people's private lives.

Lots of big things happened this week in the past. In our house, we had to send our cat of 11 years over the rainbow bridge due to heart failure. Doesn't measure as big as Darwin or Hubble but was pretty devastating to our family.

No, but I’m sure it measures even bigger if it’s your family member. I can relate and wish you the best. I’m sitting here petting our 5-year old Moyen poodle who was born the same day our toy poodle went across that bridge after 18 years. We weren’t planning to get another so fast but the birthdate seemed karmic. He is a larger version of our toy poodle and helped us through the difficult times.
