“Homelessness: An American Crisis” is real and extremely sad. My husband and I had just watched a documentary on homelessness in California last night. It was hard to watch and learn of those Americans’ stories. According to HUD’s (2022) stats, California, New York, and Florida remain at the top of the list with the highest homeless population. The tent cities reminded me of some places I’ve seen in most 3rd world countries. America is not a third world country.
Very disturbed to read about how Connolly sabotaged Carter’s re-election bid. Gives new meaning to the term “dirty politics”. These men are not great men. They are scoundrels and bottom feeders of the lowest order. I hope any legacy is smeared by what he did. It’s the least of what he deserves.
Wish the American people would rise up and protest such actions. They are at minimum anti/Democratic and in some way should be illegal.
For the Italian “orange fight” town why not convert it to a “paint ball” festival and donate the $ or oranges to the World Food Bank? Still have a lot of fun and feel doubly good about it.
Having a close friend in politics helped me realize years ago that you pretty much sell your soul and neither party is free from backstabbing and sabotaging even their own party members that disagree with them. Sad reality but reality nonetheless.
