So glad I took the time to watch the video, what an extraordinary story of bravery and resilience. Thanks for sharing this, the world needs to remember what can happen when there's unchecked power.
wonderful history sharing today!! I had heard bits about the stolen car, but today you filled in a lot more. And I didn't know anything about singer-songwriter Katy Carr. So glad you got to meet her & it led to more for you. Everyone needs to share as many stories they find about Auschwitz & the other death camps. As Frances said - to shield us against such inhumanity. As Gayle said - we all need to hear stories of courage. As Tommy said - never be afraid to write the truth. And Libby - the (I'll add 'entire') world needs to remember what can happen when there's unchecked power
Moving - there was plenty of optimism in that story . . . . . . .I grew up in that time and still can't believe the injustices people suffered and I now have feelings that we haven't learned enough. History repeats?
Golly! What a story and definitely deserves to be told. Every one of those brave, desperate men still had to have some optimism of success about them. Had they not, any smell of fear on their part would have proved fatal from the start. Thank you for telling their story.
As a side note, it should be obvious by now that one brutal dictator isn’t any better than another. Piechowskl and Pilecki demonstrated that.
It is a story worth knowing - if only to shield us against such inhumanity
Bravo! Well done! We all need to hear stories of courage; we may need them someday!
Never be afraid to write the truth. A terrific story - it leaves us full of optimism.
Thanks!
