Anything that can be used for good can (and will, if there is profit to be had) be used for evil.

AI feels lto me ike we are living in a "cognitive revolution" - although sadly I do not think this will ever be referred to as an enlightenment.

Perhaps the AI equivalent of capitolism's "buyer beware" is "reader beware"... ??!!

Plastics have many pros but also many cons. Likely Ai will be the same, I hope the cons are recognized and managed better for the greater good of the earth ad humanity as a whole.

It is so important to find people you trust and can rely on to help both you and the greater good.

Thanks for sharing this, Bill.

You hit the nail on the head with this one:

“Anything that can be used for good can (and will, if there is profit to be had) be used for evil.“

"Every great movement must experience three stages: ridicule, discussion, adoption"

- John Stuart Mill (English exponent of Utilitarianism, ethical theorist, Philosopher, Economist and Logician)

It was quite interesting to read the commencement speeches from ‘99. The internet was the great disrupter but the iPhone bumped the impact exponentially.

Thanks for an another cool story.

New technology always gets it in the neck from those who fear the impact on jobs. Why heck, I remember when Gutenberg came out with that fancy printing press and eliminated the jobs of us scribes in an instant. But we survived.

One thing I've learned in my old age. Kids are adaptable. They'll do just fine.

"‘Like a Klingon prison’: inside Barack Obama’s audacious, near-windowless, $850m presidential library." Ayup, sums him up perfectly...

Ever been in a Klingon prison? Uh nope.

No question you and Barry have.

Same reason I haven't been to Mordor and still know it's not a vacation destination.

Oh I don’t know. Something tells me you’d fit right in with the Orks.

Something tells me you should have stopped with the first sentence. The rest is immaterial.

And yet you’re still here.

Yea, Danny door mat loves to prove how low he can go. So provocative, so anti-woke woke. He's just another asshat who tries to show how smart (fucking anti-intellectually stupid) he is.

He’s a good place to wipe your shitty shoes though, but somehow I do believe he enjoys it immensely!

This Danny door mat is a troll. He must be living in his mother's basement typing away on his play station after watching barely legal H.S. boy porn.

Don't engage because he’ll type something stupid and say, “I win, I own you, you love Obama”, and '“I didn't even vote for tRump”, then walk up the stairs and his mommy spanks his bottom and gives him a lickety split and a Popsicle!

On the bright side, I read yesterday that AI is gagging on all the AI slop that’s appearing on the interwebs. Oops.

Because I use Duck Duck Go as a browser, it now features an AI filter.

As for the latest DNI appointment, I think we should just throw our doors wide open to the world and then cut our throat and bleed out. Realistically, that’s what has been done now.

I'm getting tired of coming to the comments. It used to be about connecting to the stories that Bill posts. Now it's turning into Instagram. Show some respect for each other and stop always thinking you're the only right person in the room. This place should be an escape from that crap.
