If Putin loses power over this war and the government falls (that’s a Big IF), then the Russian states could go back to being little countries, and McDonalds could go back in. Growing up, we never thought that the Berlin Wall would fall, that Russia would split up, that Japan and Germany would be peaceful countries, that we’d travel to Vietnam on vacation, that most of the African countries would change their names - again, etc. so you’re right. Never say Never.
The surest way to bring Russia to their knees: deny them their Big Macs. I could foresee Putin and his oligarch buddies buying up the restaurants and using the profits to finance this war. Let's hope not.
I went to a Human Library here in San Diego several years ago. It was unforgettable.
