Yes trump told him. Bezos understands subtle political implications and wants trump to use his space platform.

well, reading this, reading what Bezos says, not interpreting what the left, nor the right, wants to read into what Bezos says, is that he recognizes the public no longer wants to view the media as biased.

If you do not offer opposing viewpoints in an opinion section you are absolutely biased. Just look at Fox News and MSNBC. Bezos is just like musk, looking for federal favors, business and money.

“Mr. Bezos’ decision to curtail the scope of views on The Post’s opinion pages is a major departure from the newspaper’s decades-long approach to commentary and criticism. Under Mr. Shipley and his predecessor, Fred Hiatt, The Post has published a wide variety of views from the left and the right, including liberal stalwarts like David Ignatius and Ruth Marcus and conservative voices like George Will and Charles Krauthammer.

The new direction envisioned for The Post’s opinion section appears to be a rightward shift for the paper. Mr. Bezos’ new focus echoes what has long been the informal tagline of The Wall Street Journal’s conservative opinion pages: “Free markets, free people.”

you're voicing one person's opinion vs believing what Bezos himself is saying:

Bezos cast the change as a modernization from the days when newspapers offered opinions on a broad range of topics. Now, he said, “the internet does that job.”

“We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets,” Bezos wrote in his post, adding that the new topics “are right for America. I also believe that these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion.”

I wouldn’t trust Belize as far as I could throw him. Anything he says will only serve his interests. We are both welcome to see and understand based on our own biases.

Bezos and trump hated each other until trump won. Now they are best buds. Doesn’t take much to see through that maneuver if you chose to see.

As a 40 year newspaper executive I feel confident in my insight of what goes on at newspapers. I just hope the WaPo has removed the Democracy Dies in Darkness tagline because Jeff has lowered the curtains.
