Great organizational article! I haven’t used Outlook since I retired but always found the “rules” feature to be beneficial. It helped sort much in advance. I also had a goal every day to empty my mailbox even though many items were sent to a handful of sub-folders for later attention. This is much like the paper folder system I used before email was so robust: important, file, delegate and trash.
Having 6 separate email accounts/addresses myself (down from 9 before I retired), I very well understand the need for email management. I've been using "Rules" in MS Outlook for years. A few of the rules outright delete incoming missives. Most just divert to different folders. Occasionally, though, I still need to filter through the In Box and thin it out. Can't say that I've ever had 22K in it, but even a couple thousand (from when I'm on vacation on my motorcycle and refuse to check my email - everybody knows to just leave a voice message on my phone) can be a task.
I followed the link for the 'bum check donation' to the college & read some comments. Unfortunately, seems like the college itself hasn't made much of a name for itself:
taken from comments, one of many similar: "We live close to Daytona and have watched Bethune Cookman bumble along for years. Fiscal irresponsibility, poor academic performance, etc, etc. There was one year not too long ago when not a single graduate from their nursing program could pass the state examination."
Timely info always. My work inbox went from over 20K to hovering at 7K but I feel so good to have gotten to 7K!! Todays article inspires me to get back on the “reducing the clutter of email path”.
Thanks for the tips. I have to say I use the delete button a lot and don’t look back…haha!
This is information that I will pay for ... You are a Legend Bill Murphy JR.
Thank you for the clear instructions - really appreciate it.
Now to find the time and avoid the procrastination (giggle)

Keep up the good work!

Since Sean is my email manager, I’ll be sending this on to him. It’s above my pay grade for sure but he may find it helpful. Thanks Bill.
