You must be extremely bored to be talking about how often someone tweets on a platform that hasn't the least shred of respect for any opinion its agenda does not agree with. Besides, EV's are going down the wrong path and Musk is irritating.
As someone who lives in Northern Ontario, I am scratching my head as to why EVs are given such attention. We get snow 8 months of the year here. Does anyone know what happens to batteries when they are exposed to cold? Some adopters of EVs in Northern Quebec have found out. They drain much faster than advertised. Don't even get me started about the charging time and the fights I assume will happen with people waiting to plug in at charging stations.
He stopped Tweeting because he’s trying to get out of a legally enforceable contract that is going to cost him BILLIONS of dollars. There is nothing altruistic or self aware about it. He’s not trying to change a habit. His lawyers probably told him to stop leaving a trail of evidence for Twitter, because as part of his binding agreement, he’s not allowed to shit post about the Twitter board our company, but had done so several times.
He’s a compulsive narcissist who is at the least going to have to pay the difference between Twitter’s current stock value and the price he offered. And at most will own the company by the end of the year.
Also, there are several other electric car models on the market now. Have you looked at the BMW series?
Elon stopping his tweeting is a cop-out. He clearly needed to regroup. I think ultimately we need to work on leading lives we don't have to run away from.
I know it dates me but I just don't get the draw of social media. Or influencers. There are so many other things you could waste time on. Like playing solitaire on an iPad so I don't have to shuffle the cards.
Bill, your Dad jokes are terrible and getting worse. Even dad’s are becoming embarrassed for you. For a better source of Dad jokes, I recommend you check out this gentleman on Twitter. While undergoing chemotherapy for cancer he started posting a joke a day. @KPMoore8 is a bright spot in anyone’s day, and he could give you some tips on writing/finding good “bad jokes” — maybe you could put him on your staff to help in that department.
I can tell I'm going to be on the wrong side of this debate, again. I think Elon is one of most brilliant influential people of our times. I say that, recognizing that his egotistical eccentric personality is going to rub people wrong. If you take a few minutes to watch his TED interviews, you might come away with a different perspective of him. I think it's great that he had the opportunity to introduce his kids to the Pope.
Regarding EV vehicles, I'm going to wait to buy an EV car/truck when they come out with EV planes. In the meantime, I'll let the infrastructure to catch up.
In today's world, there are unlimited distractions that can preoccupy our time if we allow them. In my experience, life has its peaks, valleys and plateau's. Sometimes during the plateau's, it gives us time for reflection, where we can change our ways and refocus on what means the most to us and then dedicate our time to those things. I have to admit that unfortunately there have been times where my priorities didn't match my best intentions. The good news is, the older I get, the more I am able to recognize this and not take for granted the people who give meaning to my life. Self-reflection is a wonderful gift.
I'm with you. I find him fascinating. I don't care if he buys twitter or not, but he did pull the curtain back on them a bit, regarding bots and spam accounts. The fact that he has Asperger's Syndrome makes him all the more fascinating to me. Maybe if his public life and achievements get people to stop marginalizing others with Asperger's and Autism his "celebrity" will actually mean something. Quite to the contrary of social media 'influencers", the Kardashians and most of Hollywood. The person who said it's a $44 billion temper tantrum doesn't understand the impulse issues associated with those on the spectrum. A LOT of what he does is on impulse. Lucky for him it tends to pay off. It's also something to embrace. Some of the most impulsive people in history had the biggest impact on our lives today.
Is it remotely possible that Mr Musk stopped tweeting due to the fact he is being sued by the company? Maybe it was just a $44 billion temper tantrum. I don't know. I just find billionaires to be rather petulant.
After saving for many years I bought a Tesla in 2019. I love driving the car and have so far not had any conversations about my choice that were not positive.
When I was thoroughly ensconced in my job of keeping two businesses afloat, I would take vacations “out of range”, learning healing techniques. I’d be asked where do I do my healing? “On my vacation”. But people continues to insist that I do it as a profession, while I was just using it to totally get away from anything to do with my job. Then the job ended when the Board of Trustees decided they wanted to go backwards, so I decided to try healing as a profession. It’s 27 years later and I haven’t looked back. My life is so different and a lot more fun. I’m so glad I took those breaks!!
Presumably you evaluate different purchasing decisions based on your needs and values.
You decide that you want a Tesla because it is the best value, is the safest and most environmentally sound choice.
THEN you change your mind based on the loud-mouthed opinions of small-minded bigots to whom, in other circumstances, you would not give the time of day.

Do you believe in results.
Tesla is the most valuable car company in the world.
Tesla has no advertising department.
Elon Musk saw a problem and personally solved it.
HE IS THE ADVERTISING DEPARTMENT.
Ten times a day he tweets something to promote (one way or the other) his company.
Is there any other CEO that devotes so much effort toward the success of his endeavor?

He does not care one way or the other whether YOU, PERSONALLY, buy a Tesla.
He has generated a massive backlog and sells every car he can make as it is.
I have an ambivalent attitude toward Elon Musk. But I think he, as an individual, has created more "good" progress in the commercial and space exploration worlds than almost any other human in American history. So he's annoying. Exactly how many people are not, well known or whatever (especially some suffering with Asperger's)? How many people are as culturally influential? I, for one, being 94, am looking forward with great anticipation to the luxury of owning a Tesla in maybe a year or two (with FSD), so I can be independent again, driving wherever I like, always keeping my hands on the steering wheel and my eyes on the road. I want to visit all the National Parks in the western part of the US and Canada (like I did 61 years ago) before I die. So, . . . , more power to him!
I deleted FB right after the attack on our Nation's Capital on Jan 6 and haven't looked back. I have never tweeted, tik'ed or tok'ed or made a Reel. I am only on Instagram (and LinkedIn - which I only mention because it has taken on the look and feel of social media...insert pouty face emoji). With all the talk about how terrible the newest Instagram update is for the user, I am seriously considering giving it up as well to shut off the "noise" that has become IG (still waiting for the update to hit my account). I liked IG because I could scroll and look at nice pictures and connect to artists and creatives. I wish platforms would stop trying to sell us stuff and/or just give users a PAID option (gee, look at that MONEY!) to have the experience WE (as the user) want instead of making sweeping changes to be like the latest shiny object and all to just make money off ads/clicks. I would happily pay $5-10/month to have the IG of 2014 back again. So I have gone all the way around the world to make my point: I can't blame Musk for shutting out the noise - no matter what his reason. P.S. I don't blame you for not wanting a Tesla because of the potential conversations which could arise...people should mind their own business, but they won't (insert pouty face emoji).

Great thought...taking a break, that is. Thank you

This makes me feel old for two reasons.
1. I don’t know how the type of car you drive would cause a political debate
2. I’ve lived 62 years without tweeting
LOVE #2. I"m 55 years without tweeting or friending!

I don’t think about or read his tweets.

People pee between 8 and 10 times a day????
The Interwebs say this is true. With the advent of COVID I became concerned.
I got a little handheld clicker-counter. Turns out I pee 8-12 times per day.
This is important because (1) I become more and more aware of prostate issues, (2) fluids and dehydration during COVID might go unnoticed.

There is also a male-domination issue here.
Men design women's clothing and define social norms. Thus women tend to avoid peeing.
This is VERY BAD for their health and comfort. Promotes UTIs, etc.
Peeing 8-10 times a day should be a good thing for anyone of any age.
Just sayin'.

However, you are ADVERTISING his product anyway.
Just look at this thread.
And someday you probably will buy a Tesla.
