Bill Murphy Jr, how did you know my favorite subject is presidential history? I immensely enjoyed today's version. It could have been longer. Thanks

Who knew major-league baseball actually took the term “spring training“ seriously enough to allow for extra practice during a spring training game. Pretty cool.

I spend half my 14-hour work day handling data (mailing lists) for my 100 clients. I spend the other half of my day creating mailers for new clients. Postcards, letters, greeting cards…weaving stories, building credibility, conveying relevance. (Ok…sometimes I build websites, too.)

Thank you for the reminder of brevity. Your quote at the beginning will be etched in my memory. Maybe even displayed on my office wall. Love it.

As per your Nevada statehood article, I found it to be a refreshing edge of your seat history. If you persist doggedly you often have great results. I think the state changed history.

What I found interesting about this story was the sea/land(across Panama)that would be taken. I was pleasantly surprised to read that the currier survived the trip and didn’t succumb to malaria. Some sort of a medical marvel in those days.

As for concise brevity Bill, Miss Wolfe, my 12th grade English teacher taught us to précis our writing. I’m thinking I’ve forgotten my lesson with my now advanced age. 🤭😬

Short, concise and to the point, great article, thanks! I really like to read such articles, when everything in the text is to the point without unnecessary "water", as it was written at the beginning of your article, you really need more time to highlight the most important thing and write it well.

Imagine the millions of people who have their entire lives on some digital platform ready to be hacked at any time. Spooky.

Maybe that Nevada thing worth knowing could be the platform for the creation of some new independent states...maybe accomplish it in 735 days?

Sadly, we are all on tax, DOT, medical and insurance digital platforms, just to name a few.

Independent states? As in a state succeeding from the Union?

Facinating article on how Nevada became a state! I really enjoyed it. Too bad it wasn't shorter (just kidding). But I digress: If you ever decide to do an article on "procrastination", George McClennen would be the poster boy for the subject.

I've been to a few Spring Training games in wonderful Mesa AZ and sometimes it is even more than a half inning after the "offical" game. If you're located along the far foul lines or in the outfield, it is a great time to be able to snag a ball, as the pitching is a little laid back and the rookies are willing to swing for the fences.
