Ohh I have a few ..

Brew the coffee at home or work even if you’re not going to drink it.

When you hear the snowplow coming to your neighborhood , carefully send your adorable daughters out with warm banana nut muffins for the drivers. (Peanut butter cups help when there are no muffins)

I’ll admit we missed them today...

Take your dog on an extra lap around the block, they will appreciate it .

I gotta make the oatmeal ..

Peace, thank you!

My “simple habit” suggestion, which I’m acting on this morning: poach an egg instead of frying it.

We grew up on Oatmeal for breakfast

Got to the point where the smell would make me gag. Didn't eat it for decades. Then a few years ago I realized it was the way it was cooked is the problem. Now it is one of my go to breakfast.

My own experience with wearing masks, is that it not only protects me but others too. There are so many asymptomatic people with covid. Masks aren’t perfect, but they are a good line of defense.

Recent statement from the Institute for Public Accuracy.

Raifman spoke about the policy level. She told the Institute for Public Accuracy: “We have to look at the full body of evidence––and think about logic… Engineering evidence supports [the idea that masks] reduce spread. Masking is especially important for the person who has Covid,” including those who unknowingly have it. At this point in the pandemic, we have many “rigorous studies on this [that have been conducted] at very different periods in the pandemic.” We find that “mask policies do make a big difference in reducing spread.” Masking “together,” Raifman noted, “is much more effective than masking alone. Masking alone is a last resort.” Raifman added that the public needs a “good grasp of the facts” to then determine “when it is worth implementing the policies.” That includes Covid policies but also those for other airborne viruses––including avian flu.

I’d like to see a “bad” version of this: That supposed friend who’s bugged you for years and you dreamed about him last night shouting “f*ck you xxxxxxx” - call him up and tell him how you feel about his behavior (the first part of this did happen, the second won’t). Viz magazine in UK used to do hilarious “Top Tips” - one of my favorites was something like: “When visiting a new area, pop into the local morgue to see if you can help out the police by identifying any bodies.”

There's a simple habit that I love to start my day. Each morning, before I get out of bed, I think of 3 things that I'm grateful for. One is something I'm grateful for about someone I care about. One is something I'm grateful for about our world. One is something I'm grateful for about myself. It just takes a minute and it always starts my day with a positive outlook.

Awesome Blossom! Just the sound of these two words makes my day. I’ve learned to say that phrase as a compliment after a colleague from years ago replied to me in an email for doing something (I don’t remember what) that probably made his day. That’s my compliment to your work Bill!!

Here’s two.

Just before falling asleep at night, snuggle with your partner, cat, or pillow and recall and share your favorite thing about your day.

The second is take a music break, put on a favorite tune and move your body!

Thanks for the lists, Bill. My day is better just by reading them.

I'm a "to-do list" person, but every now and then I have days where I realize I'm dragging and my to-do list looks impossibly long and daunting. When that happens I just begin making my to-do list for the next day, knowing I'll likely feel fresher in the morning. Do you know what happens as I'm transferring tasks from today's list to tomorrow's list? Yep, I end up just doing the task instead of transferring the task to tomorrow. By creating tomorrow's to-do list I take the pressure off today. I don't know if I've explained this well but this 'mental trick' helps me often.

My “day better” tip: Every once in a while, when you start your day, flip the gratitude switch. Live your day feeling and expressing gratitude.

(Heather J wrote something similar already, so props to you. Not trying to steal your thunder! I just agree!!)

Recognizing grateful moments and expressing this gratitude to those who brought them is literally life-changing for me.

Once you get used to doing this, it becomes easier…then you can flip this switch more often. Maybe even live in this gratitude mode more than not…which again, is life-changing.

My brother taught me this back in my 20's. 66 now. When you know you are right. Like the sun coming up tomorrow. And the other person is entrenched in saying they are right. Tell them, OK. Your right. Takes all the fight out of them. You know you are right. If they can't see it, that's Okay. Maybe someday they will. But it's not worth being upset. Same applies if you realize your wrong. Just say your right, I'm wrong. and fix it, if you can. I did that a few times when I was a waitress. Some people really want to argue. Stopped it in it's tracks. Life is to short. 😏🍀💙🙂
