Fair point, let me try to explain. I'll include a version of this next week too. In short, I've been writing about 5-6 overall subjects for quite a while now.

Let's say they include (a) health/wellness, (b) stories and lessons from history, (c) business stories & productivity, (d) my family history project, and (e) the occasional "Bill opines on the state of the world and gets some enthusiastic replies but also angry emails and generally loses a few premium subscribers each time." Plus "Big Optimism."
I'd say 20% of readers are happy to be here for all of it.
Then, for each of the various topic areas, 20% love it and look forward to those entries, while 80% stick around because they're here for when I write about one or two of the topic areas, but there's currently no way to get some without all.
My goals:
>> Differentiate so that I can do a better job on each topic area. As an example, it might make a lot of sense to launch a podcast or YouTube channel based on Better52 stories. But I want people to be able to self-select into whether they want to get those extra health-related items or not.
>> Not vastly increase my workload. I'm already doing most of the various topic areas, but I think this will make it easier to focus and organize.
>> Have room to try new things, fail sometimes, and relaunch in other areas.
>> Find ways to reward the people like yourself who have been supporting me and helping me get to this point.
Ultimately, for people like you, if you want to just keep getting everything, I'll be happy to kind of grandfather you in as a premium subscriber, and just add you to all the segmented lists.
This is all of a rough draft above of what I wanted to explain later next week, but it's good to get the opportunity to try now! Thanks!
