From my experience (I meditate and practice yoga as well), mindfulness activities are great. Having said that, other conditions do benefit from medication plus mindfulness.
An MD or even a psychiatrist are the most responsible route to take. In fact, I know someone that benefited grea5lymfrom Lexapro but had GI issues as a result. They went to a shrink and found that while Lexapro helped, other meds were more effective for their specific condition. They are now even happier on the new meds than before.
Bottom line: talk to a doctor, find the root cause and comb8ne with mindfulness activities for a one-2 punch!
Interesting that Mpox is now “that” word. Like Kate’s comment! And I will try mindfulness/meditation… I’m at that point where I need something, and meds aren’t it.
There usually is a more natural remedy for many ailments and sicknesses. Most drugs exist to make big pharma gigantic profits, not cure any disease, revitalize health or solve any mental crisis.
THANK YOU for the song/video. I am more anxious today than I have been in a really long time, so this was serendipitous. I'm listening right now and feel a little better already.
Jay has had a rough go of things lately. Probably just as well he wasn’t over on Hawaii then. Oh, and I’m listening to the music nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......................😴
This was a delightful read, thank you! I have struggled with anxiety and had poor experiences with drugs and the medical community. Breathwork, meditation, and cold water exposure have done wonders for me. Paired with regular exercise, a nutritious diet, and good community, I've completely turned my depression and anxiety around. More information like this needs to circulate. Lifestyle changes are the key to good health, and all the knowledge is free. Don't let media or medicine convince you have to pay for your own health.
If you have YouTube Red you will not be interrupted by the ad. A cost, but worth it!
What a difference 10 minutes makes in my day!!!
Meditation — and just being still — takes practice, but well worth the investment.
My days are so much better when I meditate for 10-minutes first thing the morning.
In the pauses between my deep inhales and long exhales are where I appreciate the true stillness in my mediation practice.
Not always easy to still the mind, but always worth it.
Monkeypox is now Mpox? And just how does that make chickens feel?
We certainly must protect all those woke monkeys and chickens 😀
Seek out Jim Donovan - formerly of Rusted Root - he does a great podcast called Sound Health - he may be a great interview for you.
And then there's weasels and cavemen.

Happy to see Houston mentioned in the 7 other things section. Not happy about having to boil water- which I did not lol.
