I would then talk them through their idea. One time I had two coworkers who were arguing all the time. I took them into a room and had them tell the other what they didn’t like about the other. I had each one repeat back what they heard. It was very revealing. Then I asked them to figure out how to work this out (with me present) as their arguments had nothing to do with the company’s mission statement. That scenario never happened again.
